Coexist Launches 3 Rich Media Experiences

As an Account Manager, I’m always proud of my co-workers at Coexist, but last week was a big deal. Months of hard work came to fruition as we launched three exciting online experiences for some of our favorite retailers. Now that we’ve caught up on sleep and stepped out from behind the warm glow of our monitors, I thought our friends and clients might like to see what we’ve been up to.

Victoria’s Secret Miraculous View Project

The Miraculous™ Push-up bra was designed to appease bombshells looking for an extra boost in both cup size and confidence. VS asked Coexist to join the Miraculous team with a focus on turning some flat (no pun intended) design files into a fully developed microsite experience.

DSW Bag of Reasons View Project

Brainchild of DSW and brought to life by Coexist, Bag of Reasons provides just the thing customers need when contemplating that next shoe purchase – a justifiable reason. Props to our friends at SpaceJunk for the video footage.

Bath & Body Works Body Lotion View Project

How do you convince America that their favorite Bath & Body Works lotion is better than ever? You simply ask America to try it and report back. And when they reported back, we shared those comments everywhere we could online from BathandBodyWorks.com, Bath & Body Works Facebook tab, to rich media partner sites like Pandora and Meebo.

Coexist Logo Redesign

Coexist logo

It’s tough to see our old florette mark go into retirement. I saw it go from a doodle to a mark that has served us well for the past five years. The redesign is a forethought of who we will be as a business in the near future and the mark is the first element in what will be a complete brand refresh of Coexist. A new Web site will follow in the next few months along with big improvements to our client experience tools and our office.

Spring <br /> 2008 Conference

springbreak
First we let Ohio State check us out. Now we turned the table and invaded Ohio University in Athens for the Spring Break 2008 technology conference.

Headlining the event was Eric Meyer, a renowned CSS voice who spoke on the benefits of controlling page styling by hand. Sessions were also given for Flash, Flex, Air, Podcasting, Accessibility and Usability.

As expected, we came back with a few new ideas and new contacts. The conference was a steal at the low prices they charge. Let’s keep that part just between us though; we don’t want to give them an excuse to join the other conferences at 1K a pop.

If you didn’t get the chance to attend this year, check out their site and hopefully we’ll run into you at next year’s event.

Adobe Flex’s its Muscles

flex1

I recently had the opportunity to explore the Adobe Flex framework and although it’s really just Flash on “component” steroids, I came away impressed. Novices and experts alike can build rich web applications with ease in just a few lines of Flex code. What really had me impressed was the fact that Adobe opened up the source to the free SDK, and based their design of the Flexbuilder application on the widely popular Eclipse IDE. The one downside is that the components themselves aren’t easily customizable, so more advanced users who want to create visually pleasing applications will have to devote a little “eye candy” time before deploying their code.

Follow this link to the Adobe website if you want to learn more about Flex. Also check out the Vector Magic website, which is quite possibly the most amazing example of a Flex application you will come across today.
